My intention is to inspire you and permanently change your perspective on weight and weight loss. Live healthy today so you can live to see more tomorrows.
Here is a glimpse of weight loss problems in America:
Lack of primary food
A lack of meaningful relationships and careers, spirituality, and physical activity leaves us feeling “hungry.”
They are cheap, convenient, and usually full of sodium, sugar, chemicals, and empty calories.
Availability of fresh whole foods
In many communities, finding fresh produce and protein sources can be a challenge, where processed foods are in abundance.
Prolonged stress increases a hormone that slows the metabolism, can affect blood sugar levels and fat storage, and increases cravings for fatty, salty, and sugary foods.
A snapshot of why diets don’t work:
- Not sustainable - Diets can be alienating, stressful, depressing, and restrictive.
- Not Bio-individual - Diets don’t take lifestyle and individuality into consideration.
- High Cost - Special diets often require expensive specialty foods or prepared meals.
A PICTURE OF WHAT WORKS!
The Concept of Bio-Individuality
The idea that each of us has unique food and lifestyle needs. One person’s food is another person’s poison, and that’s why fad diets tend to fail in the long run. Working on the principle of bio-individuality, I support clients to make positive changes that are based on their unique needs, lifestyle, preferences, and ancestral background.
Have you heard of the term “Crowding Out”? It means, by eating and drinking foods that are good for you, you will naturally have less room and desire for unhealthy foods. Simply put, you will “crowd out” the unhealthy food in your diet. This takes a little practice to make happen, but with support and guidance all the way, you will be set up for success! There is something to be said about adding more to your diet (crowding out) rather than taking away.
The Importance of Happiness
What makes you smile? Laugh? Go giddy with glee? For some, it’s a walk barefoot through the grass. For another, it’s a spin on a roller coaster, a solo movie date, or a perfectly ripe mango.
So… when was the last time you did something that makes you happy?
If it’s been awhile, consider this: Happiness lowers stress levels, increases immune system function, and lowers your risk of disease. It also makes life easier.
The Magic Formula for Daily Pleasure
- Doing one pleasurable thing per day (or more!) is the most powerful antidote for gray, boring, or stressful days. Try this:
- Make an “I love” list. List everything that you enjoy—nothing is too small or too large. If you enjoy it, get it on the list.
Repeat daily—or more often, as needed.
It’s so important to explore new ways to safely drop pounds while feeling satisfied; it is possible and likely the most successful way in which you’ll be able to sustain your health for a lifetime. As an integrative health coach I am passionate about setting people free from the chains of anxiety and weight-loss struggles, and giving them the tools they need to embrace a healthy lifestyle and a joyful life.
If you are sick of quick-fixes, miracle pills, and one-size-fits-all diet advice, if you are ready to maintain a healthy weight, naturally, and if you want to gain energy so you can start taking your life back; it’s time to take the next step.
If you need a big, healthy dose of hope, empowerment, and direction in the area of weight loss and body image - We all know things we could do to take better care of ourselves, but often don’t do them. The key to success is having support and accountability.
