Ultimate French Onion Soup
1 Large Yellow Onion1 Package of Portabella or Crimini MushroomsFresh Garlic Chopped1 bunch of green onions - chopped16 ounces of bone (or vegetable broth)Dash of Chili Oil1 TBSP Olive OilDash of Brown Sugar8 ounces of Gruyere Cheese (Shredded)
- Heat saucepan, add oil, brown sugar to saute and caramelize the onions and mushrooms.
- While the onions and mushrooms are cooking, heat broth in a pan, adding all ingredients.
- Once the onions and mushrooms are cooked, add to the broth mixture, heat together for 10 minutes before serving.
- Top with croutons and gruyere cheese. Cover with foil to entirely melt the cheese.
